About The Random Cup
It all started with a fateful and truly random golf outing in the nether regions of Altoona, Pennsylvania. There, a life-long brotherhood was formed between Random Cup Co-Founders Gino Hefner and Jeremy McDonald. There is MUCH more to that origination story but you’ll have to attend the Cup or purchase the New York Times Best Selling “Memoirs of a Random” to get those juicy details. Those many years of random degenerate activities and golf have culminated in the greatest single sporting event known to man….The Random Cup. Every year, 12 of the finest degenerate golfers, gamblers and drinkers that the Mid-Atlantic has ever produced come together on hallowed golfing grounds to battle it out for the most sought after trophy in all of sports. The trophy itself was molded by an all-star team of the finest Italian craftsmen with a key eye for luxurious detailing - commissioned by the Co-Founders of the tournament, it has traveled the world for appearances at the finest golf courses on the globe. Recently, the Random Cup’s legal team successfully prosecuted a costly 2-year litigation with the NHL when they proposed to trash the dilapidated Stanley Cup in favor of a Random Cup knock-off. Many golf aficionados will notice that the Random Cup Committee has graciously allowed the WGC-HSBC tournament to utilize the specific stylings of the Random Cup. The WGC-HSBC is now a feeder tournament that could allow its champion to participate in the Random Cup pending Committee approval (doubtful).
Once a Year for All the Glory
Random Cup participants battle it out over 3 rounds with the winner being presented with The Random Cup trophy and a meticulously curated Champion’s Jacket. The Random Cup is a celebration of friendships old and new. The finest degenerates from Maryland and the Carolinas all vie for the unrivaled glory of becoming the Random Cup Champion. The Random Cup officially started in 2013 as an event to bring together like-minded degenerates from Maryland and the Carolinas for a long weekend of golf, gambling, verbal abuse, body abuse and endless memories. The tradition continues today with a core group of donkeys and some random randoms thrown into the mix every year or so as an experiment in psychological warfare
